Ran with a Evo VI Ralliart today.

Note to Noble owners. Watch them Evo's!!!
Had some nice little dices over some good dual carriageway today.
Lovely dump, psssshhhh sounds. It must have been tricked up a little, because the exhaust was effin' HUGE, and bloody hell it was fast, not to mention loud.
I think I about had the legs on it, but it was 3 up!!!
This was near Garston, Watford today, anyone know of such a beast? I want to know what hp that thing was pushing.

I've got an Evo 5 running about 330bhp and though I thought that it is a pretty quick car, I've changed my mind since getting the noble. That said, had only driven the noble for a week and then got back in the 5 and thought it might seem slow, but is such a different driving experience that it is still very enjoyable. There seem to be very few standard Evo's out there, with so many aftermarket parts available the temptation to start 'tweaking' is hard to resist. Will be perfectly happy with the Noble as it is.............??

Evos come with enormous exhausts from the factory if they are decent spec!
It couldn't have been standard, could it? I mean I was closing, but at a much slower rate than expected.

Sam,
Depends on the model, if it was an RS they are much lighter, no ABS, AYC, etc and are around 4.2 sec 0-60. Though standard Evo's are rated at 276bhp to comply with Jap laws, my old 6 turned out to be nearer 300 without doing anything to it.
There is one Evo from RC Developments thats currently running over 900bhp which isn't bad going from a 2litre engine!

Above a certain speed it's all abuot horsepower. A friends Skyline runs about 300-375hp (dependant one what he's got it twisted up too boost wise that day). Above 100mph (on private roads) he stays with my 3R. 0-60 is a different matter. His is too laggy to get moving quickly.
One thing to remember however. I've been down the same road in my 3R and my old EVO6 at the same speed. MUCH hairier in the EVO. More fun? Hhhmm different. That's why I'm looking at building a project car. Got to be 4WD, turbo and 500BHP+. Nice old R32 Skyline me thinks. Still keep the 3R, just use the R32 for laughs. Nothing like the sound of a high boost straight 6 @ 9000rpm...and it'll have a boot!
