What to do...sell my 2 'toys' for a Noble?

Hello all,
Just toying with the idea of selling my 2 'toy' cars in the garage (Porsche 911 (996) and a Westfield) for something like a Noble M12, so would I be mad?
The Westie is awesomely fast, cheap to run and good on track, whereas the 911 is very easy to drive (The wife likes it) and looks good......
Anyway, just thinking as the Westie is used on track so whatever replaces it would have to be able to do that....

As I have mentioned on here beforehand, i had a caterham and then a 911 before buying the noble. I would say the Noble outweighs the porker a thousand times over, much better to drive, as comfortable (pretty much) but lack of luggage space !
If you can afford to, keep the westie and noble, but if you are as i suspect, a track fan it wont be long before you are tracking the noble and selling the westie.........The guys on this forum convinced me that tracking was the way forward.......

Enjoying both and can't see a difference anywhere close to a thousand times myself. As for comparing comfort - hmmm! Active sports seats versus 5mm of foam and leather.

Track days take their toll on any car, fixing / upgrading can get expensive. I went with the Nob as my road car and a Jap Taxi as the track slag...works well for me.
I'd swap the Porsche for an M12 and keep the Westy for the track I think.
One thing looks certain going by current posts, if you buy the Noble and track it then it wont be long before you need a new Gearbox I'd swap the Porsche for an M12 and keep the Westy for the track I think.

Not a dissimilar post from my own a week or two back.
I too have 2 toys, one being a Caterham and at the time I said I'd be sacrificing the 7 to replace it with a Noble in the near future, a car that has always been on the agenda but always missed out on because I've bought either a TVR or a Lotus.....usually because the Nobles for sale have always been geographical nightmares to go and view on a Saturday morning
I am now going to make the effort!!!!
One things changed though, I shall now be keeping the 7 as on reflection the car would be impossible to ever replace and it took me 10 years to find it.............so I'd rather be skint than regretfull.
I've got trackdays and competition out of my system now and just want a Noble for weekend blats and to nurture....hence I'd be looking for a nice honest model with scope to fettle and iron out niggles,then enjoy. A clean chassis and underneath will be my personal buying points.
I shall be meeting Martin shortly who was very helpfull the other night.......appreciated Martin, enjoyed the chat and see you soon.
The car I will be selling is a 1971 Leyland Mini.......with 210hp
...don't really want to part with that little fella but on measuring the garage It's 10 inches too short to house the 3............bugger!!
I've found with cars like this (7s/Nobles/oddballs) you don't so much buy them......you "borrow" them. The money is always there and if that rainy comes and they are easy to move on. Let's face it, the bank is a poor option for storing money.................even Mrs is on board with that idea thank the lord, and she's a confirmed car hater

I disagree Barry, its not tracking nobles that stresses the gearbox, its running them at 550+lb/ft torque on bumpy roads with hard suspension settings and the foot hard to the floor.Mines a bit of a Garage Queen for that reason
Normally up to 440lb/ft they are pretty reliable with a few upgrade, on track or on road..
Its sweeping statements like Barry that which wind me up..you keep on coming back to that same underlying message about defending why you have a juno for track..

A house we viewed had had the bottom half of the back of the garage removed, a lintel put in, and a "box" put on the back. It was so he could drive his Rolls Royce engine bay into the box so that he almost got up to the A pillars, and then fit the rest of the collection in behind it....don't really want to part with that little fella but on measuring the garage It's 10 inches too short to house the 3............bugger!!Quite a smart idea!

A cracking idea J. Unforunately my little swamp duck has already turned a blind eye to two garage extensions and is still waiting for her fitted wardrobes to materialise...........as apparantly my 3 T shirts are taking up too much space in the old ones
