I keep being reminded its all about heat! So damn HOT!

So, the tunnel mod. How easy is it to do (I won't be doing it myself) and how cheap? Please tell me Matt and Dave can do it easily.......

So.....whilst I am there, I guess Tux, Trevor, blah the list goes on, might be right about something else. Post remap, I can definitely tell when I've been in traffic and my (yes, Simon I am admitting it) hopeless standard intercooler makes vanish loads of power by not cooling down. Not keen for that to be on track! So whilst I go to JS for the tunnel mod, what would I be looking at for the intercooler changeover?

Craig, expect you to chime in here! Looks like I am going to have to come to terms with being able to see the intercooler through the back grille! And don't say my car is simply copying yours! lol

Thanks in advance for your input as usual gang.

when you are in traffic there is no air cooling the intercooler

after you set off it will take a while to get cool again

Haha. Its a slippery slope. I had a ride in Andys and Simon's cars at silverstone last year. Pretty much sent me down the same path

Tunnel mod is straightforward, just fiddly. Intercooler is worthwhile and easy to fit. Id do it for you for a beer or 3. If you dont like the look of it then paint it black. Job done

Might aswell go the full works and get the pro-alloy rad, catch tank and header tank.. Makes sense tongue out

Lol I knew it wouldn't be long till we broke you Lawrence. I went to Jetstream for the first time to get a leak checked and before I knew it Jedi master Tuxman had sent me down a new path. "These are the parts you are looking for".

Tunnel mod is cheap. I've got the intercooler, hard pipe kit, oil breather, water expansion tank (with sight glass) and radiator all from Pro Alloy and all fitted by Jetstream. The only one I've actually needed is the radiator,

I'd love to get remap done but it's a pain for me to get to Trevor. Plus I'm put off by the need for extra gearbox cooling.

Oh I've got a small plate on order so I can see more of the intercooler biggrin

Don't forget those lovely grooved disks and Pro-tech suspension then you will be copying me biggrin

Ha ha. And to think it was barely 6 weeks ago i was saying no chance to the intercooler. I might buy a BIGGER plate so i cant see it! But i cant escape the effectiveness of it, especially if i am going on track.

And the tunnel mod i might have to do REALLY soon...my back so soaking wet yesterday and it wasnt exactly boiling outside!

What are you on about extra gearbox cooling for remap? I havent heard about that.... all i do know is my car is covered in glue after they sprayed sticky stuff on the tyres to make sure it doesnt slip on the rollers!

But i LOVE the new grunt Trevor has given me....but it's no 600bhp! frown

I'm tempted by the remap now that I've got all the bits done that I wanted to. I believe I've got the upgraded fuel pump too since I asked Dave to do it a few months back. Suppose I should check.

For a lot of track work it was recommended to me to get the gearbox oil cooling sorted out, if indeed I went for a remap.

Getting to Trevor is a pain for me anyway so might have to wait till I drop the car off in August for it's service.

LOL about the bigger plate. I actually think the pro-alloy intercooler looks good.
