Headlight covers

Could someone remind me what the score is with the after market headlight covers for the early clam shells please?...My concern is whether they become misty on the back as all glass/perspex does in time and if they can get condensation behind them? I wouldn't want to be dropping a headlight out every few weeks to clean them. Also who supplies them and for how much?

Hi mate , good bits of kit , misting can be an issue after rain ect but not a big problem .

Supplied by Paul Cundy but not sure they are still available as I know a few people that have tried to get a set with no luck .

Great fun trying to fit them! Mine need to be re-fitted as the bottoms are not flush. They look much better though.

No, my mate collected it on Saturday morning and bumped into another owner whilst there, but I don't know who. Was it you?

Here's a pic I took yesterday of the finished article...except the remap from Trevor in a couple of weeks!

To stop misting you need to put ventilation tubes to the internal bezel, and vent to to under the clam, it works...
I had this issue for some time, i kept taking off and resealng but nothing would fix it, i then realized the problem was caused by the sealant, when it dries the moisture from the process gets trapped inside...
It took a few days for all the trapped moisture to disperse, then it simply does not occur again.

I have been in contact with Paul and he is struggling to get a moulder to make it for him now.

Thanks chaps, don't bust a gut over this as it sounds like a lot of bother to fit and maintain. For some of you guys fiddling around like this is a dream but I just don't have any time these days to do it!

Do you have any photos of the vents you've introduced? I need to remove both my lights to remove the misting and dirt that somehow has got in there. It would be good to vent mine while I'm at it.

Violins are playing somewhere in the distance..;P..not enough time ..pffff.....i see you on facebook 5 hours a day dont forget ..lol. .it takes 5 minutes to put a vent tube, you just drill a hole slightly smaller than the vacuum tube and feed it in..

i will take some photos tommorow if its a 3r than you just need to vent the plastic splash guard as he lights have air gaps in the bezel, so it all breathes.
