Thankyou trevor and the steve's for getting my car sorted the other saturday.
As a few people know from my posts, after bolting on new turbo's my car was not running too well at all. It wasnt running well enough to drive and i was unable to get it running in time for my remap on the 28th. trevor was trying to help me over the phone as i have the software but was proving difficult. trying to eliminate parts that could be causing the problem i dissconected a vacum hose and the car was by luck running good enough to drive. so after speaking to trevor he would try to sort it for me if i could drive it there on the next day.
Once i got there and on the rollers time to investigate. The car was being a b
h and when the pipe was put on it just wouldn't run. Apparently by disconnecting the pipe i had been disconnecting the map sensor wich was allowing the car to run better. Trevor and the steve's were all saying that all the signs of acar that had a serious air leak somewhere, But it couldn't be found and more parts were being crossed off the list as being ok and working as things were taken off and tested,the map sensor, fuel pressure,checked all pipes, took off the inlet manifold to check and finaly the ECU had to be checked. So they phoned a friend who they new had an omex 710 and got him to kindly drop it down.
After swaping the ECU and the problem is still there i was a bit relived as i had abit of a roadtrip planned the next day and knew i could not get new ECU and remap done on time.
After this trevor and steve got on the laptops and basicily started 'doing stuff' and after much tapping of keyboards my car was starting to sound a bit more like a car again. Until they managed to get it running perfectly, then trevor came out with some words that really made my day as untill now i wasn't sure i was going to hear- "now let s start with the mapping"!
Anyway time was really getting on now and the last power run was done i think at 1:30 am.
Car was now at 401.6 BHP
Anyway got home to bed at 3:30am then up at 8am drive to dover ferry, over to france and a 10 hour drive to poland all the way 4000 rpm and the odd 6500 rpm in germany. And the car was faultless. And even drove home again after
Cant imagine how gutted i would have been if i had to drive the work van all the way there! So many thanks for getting my car sorted and with those extra horses trevor

Yeah shes not bad simon pulls all the way to the red line!
forgot to add- Trevor thinks the reason the car was running so bad could be because the last thime i upgraded my turbo's they were second hand. one of the pods for the wastegate could of had a split in, and this was mapped around. So this time when the good turbo's were put on the car didn't know what was going on and the fuel air mix etc were all over the place making the car act as if it had a big air leak this time around.

...got to admit you would not automatically think it was your old map that could be causing the car to run that bad, especially when you have been running it previous, it makes sense to first look for an air leak or faulty sensor etc..that was always going to be difficult to find as i suppose the process of elimination only left the mapping ..but i'm glad it got found and sorted for you, i bet it was a unexpected relief to go from doom and gloom to an all out success ...and i bet Trevor wished he had looked at the mapping first, sounds like you nearly had him foxed

this time it was just the turbo's as one of the old ones was on its way out! they are upgraded t25's. so thats two steps up from the orignal ones. Im still toying with the idea of putting my old original ones back on but connect up to the boost solinoid and see what figures i get(maybe faster spoolup as you have).
I think its running 1 bar, so room for a bit more. the trouble is my car only has a 2 bar map sensor which is not enough for the fugures we are at. when mapping trevor was able to work around this by calculating the figures and manualy put them in to the map.
Next step i think could be a new map sensor which means mapping again from scratch, then porting the head and the st200 inlet as you have done!
Will put plot up when i work out how to use my new printer/scaner as i have only just made the step of going wireless and still in the middle of setting it all up!

I spose the thing is that there was no obvious reason to look at the map as the car was running fine before.

thanks Trevor, yep car performed really well thanks to your laptop skills. I dont think youve seen the last of me though i'll do a few more upgrades and back for another remap and kebab at soon point i'm sure.Glad to hear that the car made it all the way to Poland and back.
