coolant and gearbox

The search is down again so apologies.
But, I'm doing an almighty service at the end of the month, hopefully moved into my new house by then. I've got so far:
New plugs,
Oil,
Filter,
Fuel filter

And need to get:
Coolant - how much does the system take?
Gearbox oil - what kind and how much (6 spd with LSD)
Brake fluid
The new exhaust manifolds + studs + gaskets - been quoted £1200 from south west lotus, best price?
Exhaust wrap - what's best?
Heat reflective material stuff for under the inter cooler box - which?
The pro alloy oil breather - best price £146 + postage. Best price?

So is there anything else I should do while I'm at it? I don't want to modify the car and only begrudgingly doing the oil breather haha.

Hi Mark sounds like a pretty good list so far !!

Brake fluid , I use AP Racing 600
Coolant wise blue or pink suitable for a mondo st220 , 1 gallon will be enough ,mix as instruction .
Gearbox oil , 5 litres is plenty , about 3 to fill it plus any coolers , I use this :



Price sounds about right for all the manifold bits although the Nissan gaskets are better than the std noble units , also use aero grade locknuts as they do not come undone !!!
Yes fit the pro-alloy breather the std one is crap !!!
I would also check the coolant hoses to the front and rear turbo's as these can perish and leak !!!

Also check all fuel lines as the cars are getting to an age where the fuel pipes can perish and crack .

I would say take the exhaust off to heatwrap it. Will end up looking alot better

Was just gonna use my trade card at halfords for the power steering

Umming over the gearbox fluid as its £65 for the stuff you recommended and I'm not a big tracker (only have 1 planned this year) do noble use fords standard oil or do they stick something special in?

Cheers, it'll be off for the manifold changes which is why I thought I'd wrap it. How much did you need?

Mines a vagatune exhaust if it makes a difference

More questions haha. 1", 1.5" or 2" wide exhaust wrap?

The sagging heat reflective stuff under the inter cooler box is sagging. Best to replace with a sturdy heat reflective material like nimbus or a flexible one like is put on OEM?

Motul is one of the best box oils. 1" for manifolds 2" for exhaust. And a lot of it. Can't remember how much

Wrapp depends on wether you are wrapping in a straight line or round corners , if you are going round corners the narrow stuff is easier . Don't forget metal tie wrapps .

I put Nimbus heat shielding under the intercooler box - very effective and as it is physically retained (intercooler bolts and a few rivets) no concerns about it collapsing onto the rear turbo.

You also asked about the M8 nuts - from memory you need 8 per manifold, 4 for each turbo compressor housing and 5 for each turbine housing - I make that 34.

ETA - Thinking more about this, the front exhaust manifold uses 2 short lengths of studding in place of bolts due to the angle of the turbo flange. Make that 36 nuts!

Where's a good place to get them and exactly what did you use? I've been looking at stainless steel Philidas turret nuts but my god they're expensive!

Yes, they're the ones. They are expensive - I got mine from Jetstream. Leon at Alunox advised against using them on the head studs, but I wanted to make sure all the nuts retained their torque.
