If many of you are like me, and only hotlink into the noble forum,...you may have missed the apparent news that TVR has been sold lock stock and barrel to some russian company nikolai smolenski (or something) - see PH headlines!

please keep it in the family Lee!

Don't bank on it.

Running a car co must be a difficult, stressful thing to do.

The offering of piles of filthy lucre is enough to tempt anyone...

Every cloud has a silver lining. Maybe they'll stop dicking around with new engines and gearboxes and produce a good looking car that works!

Seriously, I hope the company stays British (i.e. registered in the UK) to maintain the heritage that's been built up, and retains the core values that PW has instilled so successfully.

IMO, important that TVR does not dive off in a completely new direction or make too much change too soon - I expect that's why PW wants to stay on the board - but I also hope he feels able to "let go" enough to allow free-thinking and new direction for the benefit of the business.

It's going to be an interesting year for TVR, and possibly a whole new set of challenges for Noble!

Peter Wheeler must have been so upset after I returned my last Tuscan two weeks ago and swapped it for a Noble.

Yep the week before, he was heard saying 'the day someone swaps one of my cars for that south african 3 wheeler I'm selling up'.

I hope NOBLE remains independant, I'm only 18, but I've always wanted a TVR and more recently a NOBLE some day. I can tell you now that as long as things stay the way they are now a NOBLE is firmly my number one choice. For the time being I'm restoring a 1969 MGBGT (let the flaming commence!). Just wanted to say what great cars I think you guys have!

FYI,

There's a piece on the acquisition going to be run in tomorrow's "Working Lunch" business program (1230-1330 on BBC2).
