Welcome to England...

I just dont understand.
After a few weeks in Gaul enjoying the car, roads, people and food I got off the ferry yesterday evening. The Noble had had a tremendous reception right across the country, lots of enquiries, compliments and photos and many smiling faces, kids, old men, the lot.
But drving down the A20 early evening last night, about the first car I see (a black Alfa 156 diesel) decides that I need taking down a peg or two and decides to give me the finger before "speeding" off -cue lots of soot - what a lovely welcome home.
What is wrong with some people?
Sam
p.s. to the factory, if you ever want to sell the car in France, I'm sure there will be a lot of interested people judging by its reception there.

Just wave at them nodding with a big grin. They'll be even more infuriated if they think you've misunderstood what they were trying to say
Whilst the french like nice cars, I'm not sure they actually buy them. Very rarely see any nices ones out there. In fact Goodwin even mentions this in the back of this weeks autocar.

Don't let it get to you, some old fella gave me the w*nker sign ....
I think they are actually trying to clean the window. Or perhaps suggesting they want a coffee made with real beans!
The other option is that they are trying to give you the thumbs up but actually have no thumbs!
Some twat in a white Astra tried to undertake me while I was indicating to pull into the left-hand lane of the A12 about quarter of a mile from the exit I was going to take.
Always mirror-signal-manouvre, but because of the blind spot in the M12 I always leave a few seconds between signal and move - just enough time for the idiot to accelerate into the space next to me...
If the girlfriend hadn't been in the passenger seat to warn of impending collision, I might well have driven into him. Sometimes a nice car does bring out the worst in people.

Think you're right on this score. The only other other 'special' cars I saw around the country were german or british registered. The french do seem to prefer the small, white, bumper car style of vehicle.

Get the 139dB Stebel Nautilus twintone air-horn upgrade and scare them hitless - its bloody loud!!!
I'll second that, just had mine done by MV. They are bloody loud and soooooooooo much better than the standard fit. No longer do I sound like Noddy, more like an Inter City 125!!!
Get the lights done too!!

I love it when Ferrari and Lamborghini drivers try and go out of their way to ignore the NOBLE. Which is fine as that way I know the NOBLE has done its job...
A Fezza 355 Spider I was ignoring today as I cruised past, decided to be a hero. He dropped a couple of cogs and went for it. I did what anyone would do...floored it in 3rd, in to 4th for about 8 seconds before I saw his nose drop (in my rear view mirror) trying to pretend I wasn't there.
I was in Simon's Ultima! Martin.

i've read one time there is 1 noble with french licence plate, maybe from ukgarage.
But well, i think you don't really know the french spirit, there are not a lot of people who want to send so much money in such a car. French people don't know Noble so they will not buy it. It's a shame, i know. Lotus, like tvr, is a little bit know, and as they are less expensive, people buy them, but how many are they in France? 200, maybe.
French people, like french cars (206, 307, Clio, Megane, ...) they like 4x4, and Porsche, few ferraris, very few Aston, very few Lambo. I love love love Noble but it's not the style of sport cars in frensh spirit.
(i hope you understand what i'm saying 'cause i'm french and i love you all, especially your cars )

i remember one fact, i think 5 years ago, there were only 10-15 vipers in France! as there are not specialised mechanics in such cars, we are affraid the car will not be repaired well, whereas ferrari, posche, ... there are specialits in France.
But oh well, we are all like that!! like me and my future elise, and maybe the a Noble : "Hello Factory, i want a french Noble, what can i do to purchase one easily ?" nothing for the moment!
dommage!

I would just like to add that if you drive a sports car in Italy you usualy get worshipped. I was in Italy last year on hols and the people just love to see the cars accelerate past them and hear the lovely roars of the engines. As soon as the car parks up in the piazza loads of people gather around to admire the car whatever the make.It really is a pleasure to see.
