I off to look at a GTO 3R.

Any hints and tips I can get from the experienced would be grateful. Tyre kicking and window wiper levering may not be to helpful but any other advice would be. Many thankx Wryka

Nothing much more than any car really. Signs of obvious damage, it's service history, aircon works, drives and brakes straight.

Bad news - The first car I was going to see turned out to be a 5 speed and not the 6 speed I was looking for.

Good news - I going to see a cracking sounding GTO 3R this afternoon

Watch this space if all goes well I want to go on the Brunty or Bust run next week with it. A mate is going in his new Exige, we'll be heading towards the meeting up at Duxford. Is there anybody else from here and up meeting there ? We will be coming from the colchester area.

The deal was done !!!

I've shook hands - and I'm collecting some day next week. Can't wait !

I'll probably post some pics once it's home but the general spec is, Jag racing green, unique green and tan leather interior and loads of factory upgrades. Decent CD player and camera/speed gun spotter.

Next stop Brunty or Bust next weekend, anybody here going ?

The old Sturgess demonstrator was Jag racing green.

Does it look anything like this?

Enjoy the car.

Same colour Antony but it's got the Xenon light upgrade ( all the lights are under one lens etc - 3R spec )

Only one problem, and that's that it has got a cherished number plate, so it means form filing before I can get the insurance sorted etc.

I know what I'm doing tomorrow now !

Sorry to tell you but they are not Xenon lights - the brochure is incorrect! They are still quite adequate though.

The guy I bought it from had it upgraded after he bought the car from the factory. They do look different to me from the opther cars I have seen.

Maybe I need to see the receipt from the company that fitted the new lights - but if the originals work fine then no problem as I don't expect to do much night driving anyway.
