Foggy front light!
Discussion
Has anyone experiencing condensation in one of the 3R front headlights? The car is only 2 weeks old, I'm wondering if the garage could sort it when it goes in for its 1000 mile service. Someone did say that you could put a hairdryer on it, haven't tried that one yet. I wondering whether its one of those problems you can't simply get rid of. Had the same problem with my old BMW M3, and those headlights were a kind of sealed membrane unit, which apparently breathes!?
Any ideas?

That wasn't the one I spotted at Oulton last Sunday was it? Couldn't help but notice the condensation in the offside lamp. It will get sorted at the 1000 miler. I can't comment on the hairdryer thing, except to sumise that it would work for a short while but, as soon as the glass got cold it would reoccour. Martin.
Tony, I was going to post on this so will add to your comments/questions:
There seems to be a condensation issue with some 3R headlamp units. I've been told that the units "should be vacuum sealed, but may not be" (FACTORY, WHICH IS IT?). Certainly when the factory's bodywork people* refit them they only put them back together (with whatever debris is left inside the unit!). Both of my under-units have been out and one is foggy too.
* they may have changed companies now.
BTW, has anyone had a 3R top headlamp plastic cover changed - who did it, was the new seal done well - and does it let in moisture?
PS - of course, once the headlamp is switched on the heat dispels the water vapour - but this is no good in the daytime when, as Martin noted, it doesn't look good! ;-(
Hairdryer, why bother as it'll only return the next time its wet!

No it wasn't my car but it seems most 3R owners in time will experience this problem unfortunately. I'll see if the garage will sort it out . BTW does the Noble Factory in Leicester service the NOBLE and if so are they more competitive with the garages that sell the Noble? I don't live that far from the factory.

Yes the factory does carry out servicing. Suspect they wouldn't undercut their authorised servicing centres though.
Mine does'nt suffer from this but in a conversation with Stuart I think it was at the factory, he said that to re-fit these units following painting etc was a big job. It involves a multi stage bonding process which can take a couple of days if I recall, so I doubt if the local dealers will be able to do it successfully.

It seems to mostly be that side yes. There was an idea that the aircon was effecting it, but I think that's be disproved since.

There is definately a design fault here and needs to be sorted by the factory, possible recall I would have thought. I wonder if Simon Hucknall from NOBLE could enlighten us on this subject?
