Now that the mass panic has settled down with regard to (i must sell my 3r)could we please now tidy up the classifieds section and remove the vehicles that have displayed SOLD for some period of time now. With regard to 3r prices i would expect them to start to strengthen now as it would appear that most of the past Noble dealers have now panicked away their stock.Once these cheaper cars have found homes and the supply is exhausted it will be back to business as normal with a new 3R Costing circa £54k with the all the bits.Something thats 4-5k cheaper will then look like a good buy at 49k.Ive no doubt that there will be some differing opinions?

Copy that.
My local dealer (now ex dealer) sold their last two Nobles on Saturday. One of the part ex's was a cracking yellow Exige 1. Hmmmm.

Whilst I admire your optimism in these trying times, prices on modern cars seldom ever go up... But good luck on selling it!

As to the old adverts, thats because most of them haven't sold. edit : just realised what you mean. That PH advertising that they manage to sell cars, so doubt PetrolTed will want to take them down early.

Whats a new 3R cost these days anyway? Isn't it 50k+options? Dunno how much they would add to the cost, but to expect to only drop 5k in a year of ownership on a 55k car seems hopeful, especially as that 5k is entirely the cost of the options.

Have to agree with DanH on this one...if you think Noble second hand prices are now more resilient...think again.

I keep seeing prices of cars readvertised at thousands less!

Can't think that the next lot of M400 owners trading in their 3R's is going to help much either.

Mole valley and the factory will do their best to help residuals, but the private market and ex dealers will provide a steady trickle of bargains me thinks.

Given a new car has VAT and new car tax included, expecting to loose only 5% is crackers in the current marketplace...

I think its a case of oversupply which means theres not a lot the authorised dealers can do about it now short of mopping up the oversupply. Doubt anyone has big enough pockets or the will to play that game though.

Caterham control their market nicely but they make you sign a contract limiting who you can resell to etc. Market is totally locked down.

Really, the only solution would have been to make less cars and keep demand up and waiting lists up. Certainly works for Porsche.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT?!

THIS WOULD WORK BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE NOBLE WILL COMPLY! ;-(

Like I said Caterham limit your resale options I believe. You sign a contract saying you will only sell back to caterham or one of their dealers. This could all be bishop, as its just what a friend told me and I have no interest in owning one so haven't researched too much

The supply is probably the main thing and easiest to control, but its bloody hard for a company to not try and sell things as fast as possible.

Joust, just to bring you into the 21st centuary car tax was scraped almost 10years ago so whats that got to do with the price of cod and you cant buy a new car excluding vat so it obviously forms part of the resdual.I would think that a five grand saving would be worth a punt between new and used but if that becomes ten grand then i cant see anyone on this tiny planet buying a new R.At this level we would all surley opt for used and that is no good for Noble or us owners, surley it is then in everyones best interest to keep a level head and not panic sell.I for one think that my R is so good that i dont care if i sell it or not,ive got GTC on order and would purchase M400 in between the wait if deal feels ok.Failing that i will just enjoy my R for what it is(GRRRrrreeeaaatt!!!)

Personally I think Noble owners can expect to endure the same treatment as TVR Tuscan Owners ...

ie Be bent over and rodgered by the 3 new authorised outlets.

Value of cars is driven by supply and demand, too many cars and not enough buyers then the envitable happens no matter how hard you fight it.

Noble have succesfully destabilised an already fragile market IMHO

Hi Mustard

i think thats a good summary. My mate has a 3R cost him 55k new, but after the motor show announcement its now worth about 43k -44k .

One of the dealers made a stupid offer, and said that there are too many 3Rs around being off loaded by the sacked dealers at approx £48k .

What I would like to know is how much did a 3R with the usual extras cost a dealer.I would think in the region of 46k -47k.

What made my mate laugh is this particular dealer said that with this good PCP deal he did he would be writing a cheque back to him after two years and he could then use that money to put a deposit on a new noble....maybe not...

cheers

All a question of how many other cars appear, cars of this class change hands fairly frequently so there will always be some on the market, just a question of how many.

At the end of the day the Joe Public controls the prices despite the best efforts of any dealer or maufacturer.

Joe Public has to
1. Be in the market for a 'Toy'
2. Have faith and the desire to buy the car
2. Consider it a 'good value' purchase against other products on the market
