Hi all,

I have an Origin B2 in my 172, and I'm now trying to fit a second one to my parents' Noble.

I cannot find a sensible place to mount the cradle! Can anyone who uses this unit in their Noble suggest a good place, and also any other help you think may be of use. I have searched the old threads, but it seems this topic (installation wise) has not come up before.

Many thanks,
Laurence

Fitted mine just foward of the gear lever below the silver facia and resting on the tunnel. can see when i'm driving a nd can take cable round back of lower dash . Antenna i have mounted on rear shelf taking cable at high level behind roll cage. Front sensor in front of rear veiw mirror, cable running behind roll cage down behind dash to harness of Origin.
Hope this helps you.Oh stuck the craddle on with a glue ,contact type which will come of off dash if required.

Thanks this is a big help.

How did you hide the wire that goes to the antenna - I couldn't find anywhere to hide it?

Where did you hide the bundle of connections?

Thanks again.

The antenna wire as i said goes from behind the silver facia area where the bunble will be, behind the stereo, accessed from under the radio. Thenup the rollcage lh side towards the back shelf. OK

I Mounted mine on the roll bar between the two sun visors. (I will try and take a photo but the car is at the factory at the moment). Basically I created two 'C' shaped bits of wood that go around the roll bar and screw together (painted black) then also have the old fixing bracket from my Origin 1 screwed (at 90 degrees to the norm) into the wood and then the other half of the old bracket is bolted to the new cradle so that it can slide onto the mounting and click into place - this means I can angle the display down and towards the driver.
As for the antenna - it runs behind the roll bar underneath the dash and comes up beside one of the winscreen air vents and is stuck to the middle of the dash.

Gives a bit of a flight deck feel (easier to keep you eyes half on the road as well) and is out of view of anyone that looks through the window unless they are looking very hard.

get the idea????!!!!

Thanks guys - I have now installed it. Have mounted the unit by the start button, the antenna on the rear shelf by the nearside window, and the laser module in front of the rear view mirror.

I'll post some pics up later today in case anyone else needs ideas as I did in the future.

I just hope the mother approves - I'm not doing it all over again
