Just got the car back from having front manifold,( rear done last year) tunnel mod and and floor resealed. Ive now got a bloody annoying tick, tick tick right behind my right ear.It only seems to appear when moving at 20mph + and seems to increase with road speed, which doesn't make sense to me as it's rhythmic as if it's belt driven. If I'm moving at 20mph+ and I take it out of gear it and rev it ,doesn't seem to happen?
Any thoughts???
To cap it all I've just had it valeted and left it on the drive whilst out and the bloody rain is teeming down!

could be manifold, mine ticked a little before the manifold cracked.

Sounds like a leaky manifold or turbo gasket if it's only doing it under load.

Thanks guys, deffo not manifold itself as one is brand new and the other less than a year old.k, both the uprated Noble ones. Might be a leaky gasket then, not happy as have promised the car for a charity day tomorrow. Not a track day as such, just a couple of banks and a couple of straights up to 130ish, no racing or overtaking.Am I likely to be down on power or more importantly do any harm?

Had the the prob drove me mad, turned out to be a little stone in the belt that every time it went round made that ticking sound.

mines been taping for what seems like ages, nothing to worry about. as for power, my little 2.5 still made good power on the dyno with a blow from somewhere so i dont think you will notice the diference.

Thing is,it's only above 20 mph or so, not at tickover, only under load.

Same as, I could only hear mine under load and only at low speed, soon as I went faster the engine and exhaust drown the noise out.

It turned out to be a tiny little stone.

I've run my around for what must be cumulative years with it doing, track days included so no apparent issues for me.
