So does the rear wing come in carbon fiber with the end plates painted body color (or black?), or does the entire wing come painted body color? I've seen pics showing it both ways and wondered how it comes from the factory or if you can specify your preference when ordering?

With the 3R and M400 it comes painted as standard but, like me, you can leave it bare carbon fibre with painted end plates. Martin.

It would seem the factory now offer both options for each of the models.

OK, so you can request it either way. What is everyone's preference? I like it in CF.

I LOVE the carbon fibre, but my parents disagree, and so it's blue

I doubt if you have the option to change the wing colour on the M400 - the factory will want to keep the brand distinct - that's not to say that you can't respray it after delivery!

I love the carbon fibre too. Must admit though, the leading edge is looking a bit worn now, some of it's chequer effect is gone !!

I'm just about to put my spoiler back on after the bolts disaster! May well need the downforce for the autoroutes to le mans on thursday !

Is your wing bare CF or does it has a coat of clear laquer on it. I would think it shoud at least be clear-coated to give it some gloss and protection, yet still have the CF weave visible.

Hmm, that's no good. How old is your car? Do you keep a good UV filtering polish on it? I wonder what type of paint they use?

The car is left outside so that may have something to do with it

So are lots of cars. Clearcoat should not discolor.

My wing doesn't seem to have any coating on it - and I quite like the effect it gives.

Certainly ensures that when people look at it they don't say "ohhh, is that fake carbon fibre?" ala the plastic shiny stuff you get inside certain cars!

...like the "fake carbon fibre" on the 3R steering wheel (or is it real?)?! :-)

Exactly - the stuff on the MOMO steering wheel is fake plastic stuff AFAIK.

Saying that, I would laugh so much if someone asked you, "Where did you get that big carbon fibre spoiler sticker from? Do Halfords sell them?"

Speaking of that, I've seen a pic on the web that showed the steering wheel to have "Aluminum" inserts instead of the "CF" ones. How do you get these?

I think those are the same faux carbon inserts with a coat of paint.
