Tick over not too good at the moment, bouncing between 800 and 600 revs constantly. It's really annoying and I feel the car is a bit jerky particularly in town. Just spent £6.5 at Mole Valley and wasn't expecting yet another problem! Any thoughts? Does it sound like an air leak somewhere as I'm doing quite well with the pops and bangs too?
I've got to go to Leicester in it on Monday and could do without problems.

Never got to prove this, but my mate's 2.5 GTO, I was about to buy, that was stolen (and found recently! - expect genuine parts appearing soon as insurance company now owns a dismantled pre-Poland-shipped GTO!) went to Mole Valley twice, at decent expense, to try and fix a very strange 'flat spot' and always came back with no improvement.
Afraid I would not ever recommend them.

It might be an air leak, but usually on ordinary road cars it is a sticking Idle Control Valve, which can normally by removing it and squirting it with some carb cleaner.

Well f**k my old boots, I've just cut my grass and the lawn mower is doing the exact same thing!

Adjust the throttle stop a fraction. It may also be a faulty lambda sensor. Can you get the afr / co checked. The factory software will show you if the lambda is faulty

Have you heard of new lambdas being faulty? Only Mole Valley fitted 2 new ones, a new turbo and a new stainless manifold.
