I was a lot more impressed with the car in the flesh than the photos (the black doesn't help, neither does the "rear mechanism", the two tone paintwork or the angles used in the press release.

The rear end is not as high as it appears in the photos, and the car looks fantastic roof down...but not so good with the rear mechanism in place, which for me will unfortunately account for most driving. And I did not see it with the roof panels in place, though the panels themselves look very fit for purpose.

The roof mechanism was designed using lotus know-how, and the showerproof tag has only been used in alignment with lotus PR...they hope and believe it will be a bit more soaking proof than the initial PR implies.

The boot actually looks like quite a useable space - 1 large soft bag or two small ones.

One guy who confirmed his order at the stand specced a dummy second exhaust...this will certainly balance the look of the rear, but I can't say adding weight for no good (and false) reason is the way to go.

I still have reservations over the car positioning (bottom of range), the drop of turbo and therefore power and one exhaust and consequent engine note. I had been hoping for an M12 GTC, the spec reads more like an M11...sorry Simon.

I will therefore be waiting to test the car before confirming order or requesting deposit return. The factory will be great in allowing access to the press car at the earliest opportunity for undecideds like me, late summer - thank you Simon!.

Delivery is currently looking like January for the first orders (i'm no.20).

Cheers for that Morten. I was hoping it would look better in the flesh.

I always think soft-tops look better in lighter colours, so Portofino blue might fit the bill?

Are there any other GTC specific features? Obviously alcantara is out Maybe a dash mounted sunscreen dispenser My scalp got badly burnt driving through Italy a couple of years back

I'm order number 3, but won't be taking the current spec car, i'll be waiting for a GTC with a bit more shove

i have asked petrol ted to do a photoshop on the GTC as he has done for the M14....think if anything it is more relevant for this car to see it non-2 tone and without the black hiding the shape

Do you know something that I don't (and that Noble would not be drawn on)...if there is a higher power GTC variant in the offing, that would get me signed up now...as it is will have to wait for the test. Ho hum.

I cannot believe I read that Noble would let the guy spec a dummy exhaust on a GTC.

Surely this is so Max power and with Noble having come so far in a relatively short space of time will not help their engineering integrity going forward.

Maybe a full working twin pipe system on the options list makes sense,,,with single pipe as standard to keep the price down.

Yeh, what direction would that this Noble into - next, we'll be hearing about the Motor Show order for the GTC-E (E for economy - a standard GTO 3R with a large hacksaw)!!! LOL

Lotus know-how? Oh dear! Expect leaks, perhaps shower proof, but don't go out when it's really raining!

My S1 Elise never leaked, even in a week of downpours in Scotland... The worse I ever got was the odd "drip" after a very long period of wet weather.
