Can anyone advise what the noise output is from a 3R. I want to book a Goodwood event and the track limit is 98dbm?

Thanks.

Rob

You will be fine for Goodwood we did a track day there last week for the Earl and the car was fine. The only car they had issues with was the Aston which is very loud compared to the 3R

98dB isn't very loud....
but I asked the same question when buying mine and according to MV the 3R is 97dB static at 4000rpm which should see you through OK. Happy tracking!!

Helpful hints for Goodwood.

1) Fully warm up your engine before doing the test - otherwise mechanical noise will take you over 100db

2) Ensure you don't have a blown baffle - the noise rapidly rises when they start to go (Andrwe G's 3R was at 105+db the last time we were there).

3) Take the revs up slowly - quickly and you'll get it over 100db easily

4) Quote 6500rpm as the redline

5) Smile at the testers - they are very nice people and if you are slightly over will give you many chances and advice.

Apart from that - have fun (you'll be around 95-96 db - remember each +3db is effectivly a doubling of the sound energy)
