Didnt know where to put this.

I have well (12 year old son) has a 56 plate 1.1 picanto automatic. Bought cheap 2nd owner only 50k miles £200
Needed 2 handbrake cables for MOT.... apart from EML

The EML light can be reset and stays off for a few starts of car. The only code is for O2 sensor 1 voltage.
No problems with emisions on the MOT.
The car runs fine or as well as a picanto can.
The only thing i have noticed is the mpg is a lot less than my manual i had 4 year ago. I assume it is because its an auto. Road tax circa £15 for a man and £270 for an auto. laugh

All filters and plugs changed. But dont really want to sink £100+ into an O2 sensor if it might be something else.

Is your son not a bit young to be driving?

If the code indicates O2 sensor 1 voltage then it is almost certainly going to be a problem with the sensor having reached the end of its life and gone open circuit or a problem with the wiring to it (chafed or water ingress in the connector). Pattern sensors are a lot less than £100 (try £15), or if you want to really cheap out then get a used one (might even come with a short warranty).
