Hey all, I currently drive a Kia picanto and have been keeping an eye out for upgrades. I've seen a used Kia in my area at a good price, it's 5 years old but it's got 80k miles on it. Given the age, I'm assuming it's mostly motorway miles... Full service history apparently but I'm not sure how well these 1.0T engines hold up or how much life could be left in it. I don't do a high mileage myself (only done about 3k average in the last 3 years) so it wouldn't be hitting a crazy high mileage any time soon. I don't want to be stung with any big repairs but I'm assuming if I maintain the servicing all should run well?

Won’t that still be under warranty, it’s 7 years with a Kia isn’t it? What model is it, another Picanto?

Yes it still has a bit of warranty left in it but I'm hoping to keep it longer than that. It's a Kia Rio, just for something a bit bigger, nippier and more up to date tech

Well it’s a small motor with quite high miles on it already, so I wouldn’t assume it’s going to be faultless but at least you’ll have a couple of year’s warranty. Enough time to assess whether to keep it after that or move it on as a bit of a lemon.
