We are about to acquire a 2019 i10 with 1 litre 3 cylinder engine (I think). Is this one similar to the Ford Ecoboost with belt running in oil etc.
Is there anything specific I should know about these cars, maintenance, dos and don'ts etc.
Sorry about the vagueness of the post, it's been sprung on us in the last few hours.
Thanks

I'm on my second Kia Picanto with the 1 litre engine, albeit the 99bhp turbo version. Basically the same car as the i10.

Great little cars, but I imagine the non-turbo version might be a little underpowered on long journeys. I had a Skoda Citigo with a 60bhp triple, and it needed thrashing up long motorway inclines. Perfectly fine otherwise though. The Picanto is just as well built as the VAG car, and much better equipped for the price. For example, proper electric rear windows, while the VW group cars get mini-style pop outs, and integrated sat nav, while VW give you a phone holder. Can't fault the Picanto/i10 as a practical small car.

I bought my first Picanto in 2019, sold it after 2 years, bought another a few months ago. It's the only time in 45 years of driving that I've bought the same model that I'd owned previously.

The only issue with either car was minor corrosion of the diamond cut alloys on the first one.

Oh, the 3 cylinder is chain not belt.

Thanks for that. Encouraging news. It's for my learner son + spare car for wife. So 60odd BHP probably enough except for quick get aways at junctions etc.
Pleased it's not a wet belt engine , my biggest concern.
