i30N - switchable maps? (stupid question alert)
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I'm sure this question will probably result in some smirking/eye-rolling/p!$$-taking, but it is a genuine question that a few hours on google has not been able to answer.
I know in general it is possible to have multiple maps when tuning cars, but is it possible to have a 'safe/eco' map that is a substantially down-tuned map?
Context: I have been in the market for an i30N for a couple of years now, however one main thing holding me back is that whatever I buy will ideally need to be driven by my 20 year old son. He's a decent enough driver, but I just feel that expecting a 20 year old to be responsible with 275 PS is asking for trouble (I know how things would have ended up with that sort of power when I was his age).
In an ideal world I'd love to be able to put it in son mode (e.g. low power - say 140 PS) for when he drives it, then in regular drive mode for when I drive it. Obviously the map switching would need to be discreet, but I have seen map switching done on other cars that is very unintuitive and you'd only be able to do it if you knew the crack.
Anyway, any (helpful) comments gratefully received!
Cheers
