Is the Kia Stinger cheap?

The Kia Stinger has been around long enough that we all know what it is...
But what I'm wondering is if the idea of buying a Kia because it's a cheap Korean brand and you'll get more bang for your buck really true with the Stinger?
They seem quite expensive. Are they better or cheaper than other cars with similar specifications?

Take a look at the reviews - while Kia does sell some cheaper cars, they moved away from being a cheap brand some years ago. They have tried to step into a more premium market a number of times, with less than stellar results. However, the Stinger is far from bad. It’s rather good to be honest!

The car most people compare the Stinger to is the BMW 440i. The Kia has more power, is faster to 60 mph, has a higher top speed and has a longer standard warranty. The Kia is very similarly priced, both for nearly new and ones several years old. In my opinion, the Kia is the better buy. I think the only area where the BMW has the Kia bettered is with its lower kerbweight.
Prices seem to be around £23-£40k, which in my opinion is certainly not cheap!

I bought a nearly new one about three years ago and ran it for 18 months. It was one of the best cars I've ever owned and I've never had a modern car that had so much interest and so many positive comments. When I traded it in I got more than I'd purchased it for.
I've just done a deal on another nearly new one 72 plate with less than 2k miles, pick it up on Friday.
When I bought my first one its German competitors were around £10k more expensive. That's not the full story though, spec them up to the same standard as the Stinger and the figure was nearer £20k.
I'm not surprised Stinger prices are holding up, they're much better equipped, more reliable, have a seven year warranty, drive really well and look great.
They've stopped making them now and IMHO they'll become something of a classic.

Which engine did you go for?
I've got an Optima and Alfa, been looking at the Giulia's against Stingers and the Stinger seems hold it's value well.

The car is filthy at the moment, hopefully I'll get some pictures in a week or two.

Snap, almost. 2019 3.3 bought in June ‘22, it replaced a Tesla. Been interested in one for ages.

I’ve done over 10,000 miles so far and had zero problems apart from some sunroof rattling that started in Portugal in July probably due to the heat - it’s silent again now but I’m wondering whether it’ll start again as the weather gets warmer. Heads up display rattled but I sorted that with a bit of foam tape. I also sometimes have a faint rattle from the steering wheel. Zero serious problems.
I put a set of Michelin PS5 tyres on, fitted a dash cam, waxed it and that’s it really.
Service packs are worth doing - I bought 4 services and 2 mots including the big valve clearance service for £750-ish - the valve clearance service would be near enough that on its own.
The Facebook group is very active and knowledgeable - a lot of cars on there are being modded but I’m leaving mine standard, at least until the warranty runs out in 2026.
There’s not much out there that comes close with the standard equipment, performance and practicality.

I bought services 5 to 8 for £749
Downside is if i sell the car i cant claim back the cost of the services i did not use. They stay with the car.
Upside is being a tight barsteward i will keep the car for at least 2 years.

The american ones are a bit full on though!
Most i will do is uprated ARBs and K&N drop in air filters.
No creaks for me. Reckon the heat could well be it.
If dates align will be at the Stockport meet.
I am currently looking at Kia models as a replacement car for my wife and I . Looking at SUV,s. Really impressed we what we have seen so far.
We have noticed something we have never ever seen before and it must just be coincidence but really odd
We have never seen so many Cat S or Cat N cars in the rangle 2019 to 2021, the range we are looking in.
Not so common when we search other marques.
