My dad currently owns one, had it from new, 220D 56 plate, 130k miles never missed a beat and is built like a tank, interior is such a nice place to be, better than the 3 series and C Class and the level of equipment you get as standard is brilliant, leather, heated and ventilated seats etc.... Only issue is the wheel corrosion, currently on its third set of wheels as Lexus replaced them under warranty and on the second occasion free of charge even though the cars warranty had ended.
They represent great value for money, try and seek out a car with the communication pack which includes the Sat Nav, Parking Camera and the superb Mark Levinson stereo, 300 Watt and it is superb.
thanks chaps. They represent great value for money, try and seek out a car with the communication pack which includes the Sat Nav, Parking Camera and the superb Mark Levinson stereo, 300 Watt and it is superb.
yes, i'd want leather, the good stereo and the heated/ventilated seats
if anyone knows of a good one post it up on here.
130k mile ones can be had for £4k ish now so they are a bargain imho, but i'd like one with more 'sensible' miles.
cheers

Had a few issues with my wife's 220D. DPF blocked and car went onto limp home mode. Ended up needing both O2 sensors in the exhaust replaced along with the DPF. This was covered under warranty. Dealers are very good in our experience, however, we were advised to not drive economically to try and prevent the DPF going wrong again. One rear calliper has been replaced by Lexus under the extended warranty. Also had to have a new rear shock at 1st MOT as it was leaking. Again, it was replaced under warranty by Lexus.
So, to recap, had most of the problems which lexusboy commented on, but the dealer has been very good.
Ok thanks. Ive noticed dealers dont charge much of a premium over private sellers so id buy from a lexus dealer i think as 12 months warranty and goodwill.m doeesnt sound too bad there peter. Can i ask if yours has full history and the mileage on it? CheersSo, to recap, had most of the problems which lexusboy commented on, but the dealer has been very good.
