Going through the dilemma to either

Keep the LC150 we have, worth about 15k, 180k ‘miles and going strong

Or

Sell the LC150 and buy a compact tractor for the field work (plus front loader hopefully) and buys an estate like a Skoda superb 4x4

We currently need towing of a horse box and harrowing and rolling of the 10acres we have. As well as rescuing us from the heavy winter snow on occasion.

Anyone any thoughts?

We do maybe 3000 miles a year in the LC currently and seems a large amount of capital sitting on the yard.

Thanks

My experience says if it's working ( and a Toyota should be) stick with what you have, you could easily buy trouble and spend the same amount fixing problems.

Yet I was going to say I think your logic of a swap works, from a running cost and home yard use perspective.
Handy thing a compact tractor and will prevent the LC getting trashed inside and being ‘less car’
4x4s will be taxed and frowned upon for ever more too of course, including the fuel.

Our 3.0 A6 Allroad would be a gr EA t compliment, bang on as we have some All-Season tyres.
Pulls out box with the 16.2 h horse no dramas (Superb is a 2L diesel?)

Tractors also allow fun projects smile
