Hi All. After around 2 months and 2,000 miles it broke down with a serious electrical fault. I was recovered to the dealer where it has been for over 2 months
After a few weeks > Needs to be seen by a master technician
After 7 weeks > Needs to go to a dealer with better equipment, THINK it is the gearbox that needs to be removed, will be in a few days.
That was 2 weeks ago, It is still at the same dealer. They have had it more than 2 months and done nothing but a diagnostic test, that I reckon nobody wants to tackle what is causing the 47 electrical faults, because they have 1 chance from what I believe.
Because it has not been touched yet I think they are just fobbing me off when I phone them.
Loaner is a basic hatchback., nowhere near what I paid for.

What can I do.

Threaten rejection. You've given them more than enough chances.

If financed, inform them also and get them to apply pressure.

Thanks Valiant.
Forgot to mention it was a demo I actually drove, only done 900 miles. Loved it, wanted it that day.
Traded in my new 2022 Octavia VRS estate I waited 6 months for, and paid the balance.
Bought as pre registered, so not exactly new.
Phoned them again, do not believe a word they said, true or not.
Looking like I will need a solicitor to tell them what legal action I can/will take, because I feel they are whitewashing me.
Do not want a partial refund, do I want another one. Regret buying it.

Got one of these on a lease and mine has had weird issues and can't wait for it to go. I may end up giving it back a year early and cut my losses.

Weird, I've had mine since October (275bhp R Line) and it's been absoslutely flawless. I hope the Tiguan PHEV that's replacing it in a few weeks is the same.

I've had a fault with the window switch, the radar in the rear. Brakes feel crappy at times as if the car doesn't feel like it wants to slow properly

When the car is in hybrid mode the revs are harsh and feel vibration in the steering wheel and car.

The dealers here in the south west are abysmal

The Tiguans have just as many faults unfortunately if you check on Reddit
