(Gen 4) Honda CRV 2.0 petrol (2012-2016)

Any info on these, just having a look around?
I have seen a few (2012+) with significant mileage (180k+) anything to look out for on these, did they sort the rust out from the previous gens?
Car would be used for around 8k a year as a family kid hauler, dont want to be looking at a diesel one really, happy to pay a higher VED and fuel costs for a simpler life in all honesty.

The 2.0 petrols use the R20A engine which is a derivative of the K20A but with more low end torque (and I think a SOHC?). They are a completely bombproof engine and are great to drive however do lack a little torque.
I'd say don't discount the diesel before driving one - the 1.6 i-dtec is a great engine and is very reliable, and it has more torque than the 2.0 petrol which makes it a little smoother to drive. The 1.6 diesels also don't seem to have problems with the DPF like the 2.2
An alternative petrol option is the Mazda CX5 which is a nat asp 2.0 petrol and is reliable.

Yeah had enough of diesels, going back to a petrol and enjoying the smoothness was nice.
The 1.6 dervs do get a good write up I must admit, but it would be false economy for its uses we need it for, think we've been lucky so far with the diesel we currently have been running long term, absolutely coked up now.
Anyway, by the consensus and from looking around too, the petrol is pretty much a solid thing
