VW Polo 2015+ 1.2 TSI
Discussion
Hi
My son is looking for his first car and likes the VW Polo 1.2 TSi
He has around 7/8k to spend but before viewing any is there anything we should be looking out for with these cars? Any known issues?
I have done a little research and I can see they should have been serviced every 10k and also a cambelt change every 5 years. Is there anything else we should look for?
Also open to suggestions on any similar cars you would recommend we take a look at.
Thanks

My wife had a 1.2TSI from new up until we passed it on to our son recently with 80k on the clock. It was/is a brilliant car and apart from regular servicing needed nothing doing. For a small car it was good on the motorway too; relatively quiet and refined. We have just replaced it with a one year old 95hp 1 litre TSI which she also loves. I suspect that some would say that a Japanese/Korean equivalent would be likely to be more reliable but for us it was perfect.
Drive Blind jnr changed car last year and got a 2017 1.2 TSI Polo, last of the mk5s.
Outside of the usual car buying checks I dont think theres any major issues with the Polo to focus on. 8 months on she's really happy with it.
Initially she 100% wanted a Fiesta, but so many red flags when looking at Fiestas for sale forced her to widen the net.
As above,, for every VW there will be a newer, lower miles SEAT equivalent for the same money.
