so i had some chap on my car thats for sale , all afternoon back and forward with info and stuff seems to be going ok . then he wants me do a check on my car so i say its down to you as the buyer and use car vertical. He says no as he has had problems in the past and insists i use the link he has sent me,
wheel audit.co.uk. i refuse and its all over. so what is this scam??

It's not a car check site, you pay to use it, get nothing and he/she gets away with the fee you've just paid. Oh - and all your credit card details

Buyer does the car check, that is not for discussion.
They are trying to scam you.

Scam 1000% well done for not following it through and doing it.

I can see how none car people get caught out.

The scam is they own the site and want you to give them money.

Another one asked to use is www.theinspectfleet.com. At the lowest risk, they have your data. Reported to fraud@pistonheads.com.

Looks professional, with packages priced in £, but the headline states you'll save dollars. rolleyes

Dont suppose you have a car advertised on a site called 'pistonheads.com'? so far its the worst selling platform I've encountered whilst trying to sell a car, every enquiry has been from a scammer.
