I’ve seen a couple of cars at this place Auto100.co.uk seem to have some very high end stuff (way outside my budget (£50k maybe up to £60k at a real push for the right car).
It’s by appointment only (new one on me), I’ve seen a couple of cars there I’m interested in:
Alfa Romeo Gulia Quadrafolglia
Jaguar F-type
Audi TTRS
Has anybody had any dealings with them at all.
I’m not after a naming and shaming type response but just a factual response, how were they to deal with if anything went wrong etc.

Thanks for the information. This place currently has a Ferrari for sale at £1M. I’m surprised at the above. Took a friend up at Christmas to collect one of their ‘many’ Emiras, not a great experience to be honest and post sale issues have been a nightmare for him!
They have changed their names several times although still wind out the story of it being a 30yr family business. They claim their stock is valued at £33m and have weekly visits from their insurers and the warehouse is certainly an eye-opener - very reminiscent of a scene from Gone in 60 Seconds, ironically that’s about at 5 seconds longer than their customer care lasted!
Go in with your eyes open, go over the car with a fine tooth comb outside in the daylight not the dimly lit logistics warehouse with no natural light.
Check and double check keys, tracker, documents and ensure they do the online V5 process with you in the office so you know it’s done.
Safe to say he wouldn’t buy from them again but the market is full of good and bad. Funny enough the same friend who bought the Emira sent me this thread only a few days ago, worth a read with a brew -

Like any garage every car is different and should be judged upon its condition and history.
They recently had a nice ex Enterprise Rent-a-car Ferrari but no doubt that car had a hard life compared to others on the market but at the same time they source cars from other traders who have taken cars n PX or from consumer to business sites like motorway or Carwow where cars have been privately owned.

If you're looking at their green Giulia QV, that's my old one...
That’s the one. Or should I say was the one. I doubt I will be doing business with them from what’ I’ve found out so far about the company. Would you kindly either direct message me on here or perhaps post details if it’s a good car or not.

The lotus stories are crazy bad service and by the way no test drives allowed!
What? Well that’s an instant red flag for me. Many years ago my wife bought a car from a company called Parkway Specialist Vehicles near Mansfield. Lovely car, lovely buying experience and when we raised an issue a few weeks after purchase they couldn’t have been helpful if they tried.
I agree with an earlier poster, buy on condition and service history and the feel you get from the seller and you shouldn’t go wrong.
Problem is cars are complex. You can do all of the above and still have an issue with a car. For me it’s how a dealership react when something goes wrong that really matters and I’m getting the vibe that Auto100 are not to be trusted.
None of the cars I am looking to buy are super rare so I have options to go elsewhere.

Buy based on condition do your checks & if it's a good car buy it, in this case you can get some background on this particular car which is gold.
If you like it then view it.

They have a warehouse of interesting cars, many of which are stored and not for sale.

Their 'showroom' is quite an eyeopener. A secure warehouse rammed full of exotica.
Me and the Mrs felt like a pair of peasants when we got a car from there
Not bad to say it used to be a warehouse for a tights company for years. Me and the Mrs felt like a pair of peasants when we got a car from there

Their compound round the corner used to be a machinery hire place. Certainly more interesting now!

Hmmm……that’s true to extent but if you’re buying from a dealership you want to have some level of confidence that they’re going to helpful if things do go wrong.
100% agree Sheepshanks, the cars may be ok (tread carefully) but when the aftercare is so appalling you want to dodge that like the clap - especially when spending the sorts of money there stock demands. My Emira owning friend has been through the ringer with them and they just aren’t interested, his car had 6 yes SIX miles on the clock so was essentially a new car and they spun him some story about the owner being best mates with the MD at Lotus - so you would think for the sake of brand reputation and friendship the aftercare would be good.
There are som many great dealers out there I just wouldn’t risk it.

There's a similar place just down the road from me. A unit on the edge of an industrial estate in not the poshest area. They have everything from 300k Lambos to a 20k i30N but other than a sign outside and a fancy website you'd never know it was there.
If you're looking at the Alfa and are in contact with the previous owner on this forum then I'm not sure I'd worry too much about after sales. You'll no doubt have it looked after elsewhere anyway.

I've come across a few dealers with their business model.
I imagine they underwrite a lot of deals, and can be relied upon to say "yes" so they get offered a lot of cars. Good and less so,
Then they have to operate with a thick skin, when selling the less good cars. Calls from solicitors may or may not be a weekly ocurence.
I imagine that they are making a lot of money, though. There is definitely a place in the market for this sort of operator. But you need to treat the purchase like a private purchase. Any consumer rights you leverage out of them afterwards can be considered a bonus.
CRA 2015 gives you a contract and consumer protections with the seller. Any issues will be with the seller, not the manufacturer. Seems this point is not widely understood and some may be taking advantage.
Now they may be selling stuff at what appear to be good discounts. But in the case of the Emira feedback, lots that had issues were diverted back to Lotus as "warranty" issues completely disregarding any responsibilities under the CRA, and that's when buyers could actually get a response.
If you are happy doing business under these circumstances then crack on. Personally with large sums of money at stake I'd want to feel some base level of confidence in whom I was dealing with... Ymmv of course..
