Sounds like a great concept, electric torque, simpler drivetrain, no charging hassles.

Is it really any good? Still can't beat an old diesel for fuel economy. What's like for servicing? What's the expected lifetime? Are there any real benefits?

Any recalls? Common faults?

Don’t know if they’ve resolved the issues but 2023 through to and including most of 2024 they suffered from drive train problems ie failure of the motor/generator.
As a series only hybrid it’s not the most economical outside of town driving too.
Nearly bought a Qashqai Tekna ePower last year myself but didn’t feel brave enough in the end, surprisingly nice car to sit in and drive though.
There’s a whole FB group for the problem/issue.

As said might be resolved by now, but don’t know.

They are quite popular through the motability scheme but as per the above comment they do seem to have a lot of drivetrain issues.

Yeah, read a few horror stories about drive battery failure or faults after only a few months. Also the 12v battery seems to be well undersized for the car leading to premature failure too. Amazing that car manufacturers can't work out what battery capacity they need... Still don't understand why EV's and hybrids need old lead acid batteries anyway..
