Insurances Costs as 19 year old soldier
Discussion
Good day everybody, I have been looking at first car options for a few years now and i want advice or information mainly on insurance costs
I started off looking at big cars like benz bmw etc because in my home country i drove mainly benz vehicles. Obviously to insure one would cost me an arm and a leg here in the uk and i rather not spend the extra money
I recently narrowed it to
1.5 Seat ibiza fr
1.5 Seat Leon fr
1.4 turbo Vauxhall Astra
1.5 skoda fabia monte carlo
Are these unrealistic?

Sadly insurance is really personal. What is cheap for one person is expensive for another.
I would guess from your list the fabia will be cheapest to insure.
Use a comparison website like "compare the market".
You don't even have to use real details, just put in something equivalent to what you think your situation will be when you come to be ready. It will give you the best idea, once you have all your details in changing the car is only a few clicks.

Think you could give a range I'm looking for max 200 to 250 a month
No it's impossible, depends on how long you passed your test which town you live in, which area in which town you live in, what you do for a job, anyone else on the insurance. Just your location could vary +/-50% easily.Invest some time on comparerhemarket
If you have no no claims bonus, then look at lower powered cars:
The first thing to do is avoid anything with over 100bhp, I've found that going for Focus segment cars can result in cheaper/same cost quotes as the Fiesta's etc.

Go on a comparison site & use the reg's above to get an actual idea of cost.

Find a reg off autotrader of the car you want, create Mike Mouse account on meerkats using throwaway email. use next doors house number but your postcode - insurance quote sorted and no spam tidal wave on personal email.Deluxo said:

Girl I work with in a similar situation. Told me she cut her insurance in half by buying an older Porche and running that. Sure enough nice Guards red 944 spotted in the car park. Go figure.
A porsche???By chance, I discovered that a 12 year old 911 would cost me £1,500 to insure. So the first car I insured myself was a 911 - £1,500 to insure a 911 seemed a bargain, whereas £1k to insure a 1L Fiesta seemed like a rip off.
