Registration time period
Discussion
I hope this is posted in the right section if not apologies.
I am purchasing a jeep in the UK (I am living in Ireland) I am just wondering how long does it take to register a vehicle in the UK (its only takes a few days in Ireland) the jeep is a Asian import if that makes any difference. I was planning on flying over to collect the jeep the first week In December
Thanks for any input

I am not sure it can be done online.
We always complete a V55(?) and post off to the DVLA to register any imported cars. You also need to have an MOT certificate on the chassis number and the previous registration document showing the age etc or a COC from the manufacturer. Assuming the car is already on the HMRC NOVA system it normally takes about 4 weeks to get a V5

In the past when I have bought imported cars, the dealer did all.this before putting the car up for sale.We always complete a V55(?) and post off to the DVLA to register any imported cars.
