Bad but good idea car adverts

I'm about to get a house with a double garage, I'm thinking about having a car that is a bad idea for every rational reason, but a good idea because it's slightly mad. Think V8 MX5, or rotary engined Skoda. Keep for a season, sell on to another enthusiast with depreciation something to be ignored.

This thread is hopefully a long running list of bad but good ideas.

It must be road legal, ready to drive, will last a year without major work, Sunday fettling is acceptable and indeed encouraged.
