Car dealers poor websites
Discussion
Apologies if this has been covered, but I can’t find anything. Been looking, as many will on here, at national sites like Autotrader and big ,familiar name, dealers.. Mainly for interest. Fed up with putting in all criteria, very specific, but then, a car pops up far away, or at a different price than asked for, or even a different make of car! Supermarkets with several branches love to list cars at all their outlets not just local one. Some main dealers near me with decent reputations often have very awkward sites or just try to divert you to brand new. Finally, small dealers whose items concentrate on themselves, instead of the car.
Totally agree op.
Search for a car local to me on autotrader and top 4 results are 'sponsored' for a different make 200 miles away, followed by some more 'featured' cars bearing no commonality to the Search. Waste of prime screen estate as well as my thumb strokes.
Also i was on a site having a deja vu and realised its identical to another different garage. Loads of them all same template.
I need to get out more...

Some of the responses have given me a laugh
But yes I do find it odd when a description is 5 paragraphs of how great the dealer is and then at the bottom the actual info on the car is "Blue £10000''
I've found that really annoying. But yes I do find it odd when a description is 5 paragraphs of how great the dealer is and then at the bottom the actual info on the car is "Blue £10000''
Been looking recently at M2 Comps and a few have been exactly as you say.
Then just a huge list of auto filled nonsense, listing bits like "seat belts".
I just love how motorbike salesmen act like your wasting their time when you aren't just handing over a credit card.
Conversation- hi I'd like to ask about the service history (the most important thing about the bloody product), how many service stamps/invoices does it have'?
It's got full history sir would you like to leave a deposit before it goes?
'Could I just ask?' Is it too much?
OK, sigh. If you must waste my valuable time. It's had the initial break in service then nothing for 4 years. We'll carry out a fresh oil service before it leaves so it's a full history.
So it won't have had no brake fluid, no coolant, no plugs nothing?
Funnily when PX valuing they are quite quick to investigate if it's full or part history. I wonder why that is.
It's the attitude when you dare ask any detail. Have they got somewhere better to be?
