Good afternoon!

I’be been doing some research on what car to get, needs to be Ulez and parking is a problem where I live so can’t be too big. I have a Citroen C1 and I don’t really want another little car as I go to the coast alot, can’t really get a diesel because of Ulez and not sure when it will change again. Not really sure about electric or hybrid. So Petrol I suppose.
I have £8,000 to spend, I really like the Volkswagen Passat. But might be a bit long. Volvo are good but just be old.
I thought Mazda 3 or CX-3 but parts might be expensive.
So I’ve kind of narrowed it down to 4, I’m not sure of the exact models.

Honda civic 1.5
Toyota Auris 1.2
Hyundai i30 1.4
Kia Ceed 1.4 or 1.6.

These cars are 2017/18 plates with 60-70,000 miles.

I don’t really want loads of tech, Apple car play, reverse camera, that’ll do. Leather seats are nice but can’t see them much in hatchbacks. But the important thing really is how long will the chassis last? Is the engine any good?
My car is 15 years old and just had it welded on the sill but the rest is surprisingly quite solid. I spoke to an MOT tester and they said the newer models are rusting quicker than the older ones, so I’m not sure what to do really. People have said Volvos have good chassis’s and they last along time. Maybe it would be better to get an older Volvo?

Anyway having said all that, which car would you choose out of the 4 I listed?

Would appreciate any advice many thanks

Have you looked at a Volvo V40 petrol as that may tick all of your boxes?

If you want reliable and long lasting the answer is Toyota/Lexus, Honda, followed by Hyundai/Kia.

That’s the one I was looking at yeah, similar shape to Mazda 3, Mercedes A class and Audi A3. Just had another look and I could get a 2015 one, would the chassis last another 10 years though do you think? because I tend to keep cars for along time.

Ok thanks, I’d try to get one with fsh and one owner, I not seen one with fmdsh yet.
