Suggestions for which car to buy
Discussion
Hi
I'm looking for some advice and suggestions on which used car to buy and hope someone can help. I'm open to all suggestions.
1/ My criteria are:
- FWD or AWD - don't want to deal with winter tyres.
- I don't need a big family car and a 4x4 isn't really me, I also don't like boxy cars, so a 2 door coupe would be ideal.
- Petrol
- I like sporty cars and have had a Celica in the past and currently own a Z4 that I'm looking to change asap, but I'm trying to get something that doesn't have huge running costs, so ideally road tax not over £200, reasonable mpg & servicing costs - I know a BMW/Merc/Audi are going to cost more but just something that doesn't cost a fortune. I'll be driving doing motorway driving ~50miles or so a day.
2/ I was looking at the Audi A5 2 door coupe or BMW 4 series - my plan is to keep the car long-term so ideally I wanted it to be 2-3yrs old, but both the above are so expensive that I would be looking at something like a 2018 reg but that's already 6yrs old! Is it really better to pay more for one of these and get a newer model? I didn't really want to spend £19k on a used car and not sure if it's better to look for something else instead of buying a 6yr old car?
I would have been looking to spend around max £16k but obviously who wouldn't want to spend less!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
