Mk2 Audi TT - Mileage?
Discussion
Hey everyone,
I’m looking at a 2012 MK2 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI that has caught my eye. It’s in great condition, has a full service history (FSH), but there’s one thing I’m a bit concerned about: the mileage. It’s got 141,000 miles on the clock, and I’m wondering if that’s too high, realistically speaking if I plan on keeping it for a few years, I do about 5-10k a year.
I know that Audi’s can be pretty solid if they’ve been well-maintained, and the full service history is reassuring. However, I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with these cars, especially with higher mileage ones. Are there any particular issues I should be on the lookout for? How does the 2.0 TFSI engine hold up with higher mileage?
Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I can't help with the actual car, but a friend of mine has a similar 2.0 TFSI engine in his Golf GTI that has done a little more miles than 150k and ... its basically fine. It pulls just as well as it did when he got it 12 years ago (and it was 6 years old then, its an 05 plate). The car had gone a little frilly in places but the one thing that kept going strong with just normal servicing was the engine.
It is good to read that these engines do go on to do decent mileage I reckon. We had a brand new 2012 TTS, and we covered 67k miles in just over 2 years in it, and genuinely the engine felt pretty knackered after only 67k miles in our view. We were disappointed to be honest, and we've gone for 6 cylinder diesel engines ever since to cover mileage in(because they have always been dependable in that regard).
So it is nice to read that they will do the mileage for sure, because the engine in the TTS has put us off buying another Audi for example. We stuck to the service schedule religiously as well, but the engine still felt tired to us though. Sad really.
