Hi, I have sold my car to a dealer yesterday, transport man test drove the car, and told the dealer it was ok, and then he transfered me the money and took it away on a trailer.
I had a phone call today saying the gear box has a fault, I never put in the ad that it had a fault in 04/23, we had it repaired (£4447) and haven't had a problem since and have drove it every single day and put 22ish K miles on since then.
He is telling me that he has the right to return the vehicle even though I’m a private seller, I haven’t signed any contracts, was just money in account and then done.
I don’t get how we have had the car for 14 months with no fault and all of a sudden it has a fault?
Is he allowed to return it and have a refund? I am nervous because I do not want to have my car return and refund with a fault that it did not have when it had left..

He/his driver is considered the professional in this situation. He inspected them vehicle, test drove it, was happy and concluded the deal. No warranty or right of return

He'll know this as a ""dealer"". For all you know he's swapped in a dodgy box from another car.

He has no right to return the car to you.

He had someone test drive the car who didn't find any issue and gave the OK, dealer trying it on

His driver said the car was good. It was good when it left you and you don’t know what’s happened thereafter.

Tell him to jog on.

The dealer has no right of return.

Do not take the car back or give any form of refund.
