Spotted a 2.0L diesel car that I could be interested in.

Upon entering the registration on the official ‘Check MOT History’ site, it confirms the basic make/model, and that it is a diesel..

Enter the same details in My Account on Autotrader, and it’s telling me that it’s a 1.5L petrol…

Then ran a full vcheck on it - all clear except that vcheck have it down as a 1.5L Diesel… wobble

Odd that two third party sources appear to have bogus data.

Anyone see this sort of thing before / can it be fixed?

I guess the most important data is what DVLA hold as it will determine the tax..

The MoT history site is DVSA. To get what data the DVLA have, you need to check it's status (Age, engine size, emissions etc) at this DVLA page:

The DVLA details should be correct, the best chance of it anyway.

3rd party checks will depend on where they obtain the info and whether they buy DVLA information.

Fix it? Not your issue to fix, but using the good 3rd parties and the link posted in first reply, should fix it for you.
