Hi,

First post! I’ll be honest, I don’t know an awful lot about cars so go easy on me. I currently have a Seat Leon FR but fancy a change. I always wanted a BMW 320 and have been searching for one this past wee while but came across a 330.

Age: 2015
Miles: 77,000
Diesel, Semi Auto

Price comes in at just under £13,000 that includes a brand new set of alloys/tyres.

Thinking about going to look at it. Is there anything I should look out for? Do you think the price is good for the spec given? Anything else I should know a 330d? Go or avoid?

Thanks in advance

Does your usage suit a diesel? If it does then yes they're a good car.

What is the spec? BMWs can have a massive variation from totally base through to individual paint and all manner of options.

ZX above mentions your use case for a diesel but it's average miles per year is very low for a diesel so the previous owner/s may not have used it as intended.

I do have one of these although quite eye opening that I didn't pay too much more back in 2019 also for a 2015 car. Presumably it has decent history at the price point and it should have had a few recalls over the last few years fir EGR and for drivers airbag.

oh and being 2015 can be on the cusp of euro6. Make sure it is.

Seems expensive. F30’s are a bit long in the tooth. If you can stretch to £15k you’ll get a nice G20 from cargiant

Having read up more about them, I don’t think this car would personally suit me as all I do is around 6k miles a year. Sadly I feel I may have to look for a petrol.

The engines do have issues too, they have to be well serviced and not abused.
Ive always fancied one myself but dont do the mileage either, the engine issues have put me off though even though they are exaggerated online slightly.
Shame as the sensible petrol equivalents dont offer as much useable everyday performance and are less interesting.

In which case I'd suggest looking for a 328i:

Or a 340i if you want a 6 cylinder petrol model.
