So we’ve had the used car price crash thread, and we’ve got the no-one wants an EV thread.

What about classics?

What I see on YouTube, and what I follow in the classifieds is suggesting a quiet market, perhaps decline in some sectors. But is that the case? The right cars still seem to sell at all price points.

Sure some auctions I watched have had lots unsold and some apparent bargains have been had, but is that just in light of covid highs?

Is the economic shock finally finding its way into the discretionary classics market or is it immune?

Anyone got any insight?

I’m watching a few 996s having sold one a few years ago and they’re definitely back at the prices they were 8-10 years ago.

We've also had the Modern Classics - difficult market? thread, which would seem to support your suggestion of a slowdown in demand and softening of prices, at least of the cars that are selling, among 90s and 00s cars (996 is mentioned).

Yes, plenty of info and opinions on that thread, so well worth a read

In summary, demand is certainly down a fair bit on the Covid high but sellers mostly haven't adjusted their prices to reflect this.
