recommend me a car
Discussion
Got something like 50k available for a 2 seat plus spaniel soft top "sports car" to use as my daily driver whilst SWMBO uses the family car. I am finding it impossible to tick all the boxes- 2 seat, soft top, spaniel room, sports car.
There is a fair choice of open 4 seaters but none of them are what I would see as a sports car - my recent toys have been Lotus , F type, Ferrari x 2, all drivers cars. The only option I can see is a 911, and I cant see why I would want to change my current 360 for one of those - similar service bills, similar depreciation, but dog capable. If only Lotus made a soft top Evora!
Over to you to see if there is anything I have missed.

My leftfield pick would be a Corvette C7 cope, the reason for the coupe is that they're actually a Targa so you get all the benefits of a convertible but with a nice space for the dog:

Ferrari California fits the brief perfectly:

But personally I'd take the Maserati Grancabrio over the Ferrari everytime on looks alone:

Or just a smidge over budget is the more sensible DB9:

Thanks. There is one idea in the list that I hadnt thought of - the Corvette. But are they all left hookers? And what about the Mustang?
IN honesty I am thinking of something below £50k that I can use daily and really clock up the miles on. I made the usual mistake with the 360 of buying a concourse car with 16k miles - too good to pile up the miles.

Yes they're all LHD, the Mustang is a very good option & you'll get a very nice one for half of your original budget:IN honesty I am thinking of something below £50k that I can use daily and really clock up the miles on. Pondered that one many times. I have a pal with a 360 that is now well over the 150k miles mark and he uses it as his daily driver. Its wearing extremely well and the depreciation has to be diddly squat. Sensible.
But what you want is a carefree life and any Ferrari has to be a nasty shock waiting to happen, service / repair wise. Maybe an MX% that can be driven into the ground and scrapped at worst?

No. What you want is to be getting into your Ferrari every day. That's my plan. Retirement with a daily Ferrari beckons. Any idea of the fuel consumption of a Mustang V8? The 18mpg of the 360 doesnt matter at 700 miles a year but I want to use the replace and 18mpg for say 5k miles would annoy
If you are looking for Auto, forget a Mustang, too many cogs and can never make its mind up as to the correct one.Strangely, it works well in a Ranger Raptor, with the 3.0 V6 twin turbo VW engine, but I found it god damn awful in the Mustang.
