Cinch will open its first physical store next week, on Bedford Road in Northampton.
Stores will be opened in Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester this summer, with more locations being announced later this year.

They must have concluded customers still want to see and try cars in the flesh to get more buys,

I wonder if they will now increase their car stock volume?

And in turn will prices creep up due to the overheads?

Will they be geared up to carry out warranty claims on the physical site?

As ,mentioned, they must have done the research and expect a physical store network despite the costs will generate enough sales growth to warrant the costs.

It is interesting that the article suggests that once you have looked at the car and done a test drive, you still do the purchase online and get it delivered (or sent to your local collection point) as if it was a purely online purchase.

Kind of feels like getting into the territory of Cazoo, and we all know how well that went.

I'm sure Cazoo thought and did the same but look how that ended.

Definitely works that way for other products.

To be fair they do have access to probably the cheapest, widest range of stock in the UK through BCA. I wouldn't buy any car without seeing it in person but beyond that I'd be happy to do everything else online.

whereas the way i see it is the realisation that the traditional dealership experience is more what people want rather than relying on online purchases.

It seems that Arnold Clark have taken over the Cazoo site at Chertsey (Surrey).
