Range rover engine

In a word: yes.
The TDV6 is regarded to be no more economical and a bit breathless in comparison.
The SDV8 in the L405 is a brilliant, brilliant combination. Very reliable unit, fairly economical for its size (low 30s are possible), relentless torque and very decent power levels.
I would consider a remap if that's your thing, really transforms the SDV8 in terms of takeoff. That was the only criticism I had, it's a bit binary at junctions, you're either dawdling upto speed or experience all the power.
