Porsche Cayenne v Macan, and the used car market
Discussion
Currently looking at a Macan for Mrs to have as the main family car. I've just sold my Cayenne privately (after months of no interest) and will probably move to a wee runabout.
What I noticed on the used car market is that Macans seem to hold their value better in comparision same year Cayennes, eg a 2014/64 Macan 3.0d with 70-80K tends to be 20-22K, where as a Cayenne of same year and mileage can be anything from 15-18K.
My initial reactions are not wanting to entertain the higher price Macans command, based on my Cayennes selling price and others available on the market. Am I just being silly and need to get my head around Macans being more expensive than similar year Cayennes regardless?
Is this a fair assessment of how these models compare on the used market?

I had a similar issue to contend with when I was selling my 6 Series last year...
a lower Spec 440i was trading and retailing for a higher price than my 6 Series (similar age)... I guess it is just the way it is!
On the list of replacements, Macans and Cayennes were considered and the Cayenne seemed much better value as they were cheaper!
