Afternoon folks.

After much perusing I was hoping someone could assist me in finding a replacement vehicle for our 2008 X3 2.0D Xdrive, this car has been faultless in the five years we have had it. It is now on 148k and is time to source a replacement.

We are looking for a similar replacement and have a budget of £12k.

Requirements are:

  • Reasonable spec.
  • Comfortable.
  • Practical
  • Diesel.
  • Reasonable mileage.
  • High up driving position (wifes requirement 😂).
  • Reliable (if this is a thing nowadays).
  • Capable of towing a 12ft trailer (if possible).

We have been looking at X3, X5 XC60, Evoque and a Discovery 4.

Does anyone know how the Korean counterparts fare ?

Fire away with any suggestions.

Thanks 🙏 😊

The QX70’s are looking hard to shift. The ULEZ compliance is odd and shouldn’t the second one be EU6 as it was registered 1st Sept 15?

The 3.0d Nissan engine meets the ULEZ targets & has done from day dot hence the reason even thr earlier EX/FX cars are compliant.

Thw QX70 is a hard sell looks wise (the QX50 much less so) but when people get in them they tend to like them.

In the OP's case it seems he'll use it until it drops.

That's the QX out the frame. The other half doesn't like them.

ULEZ is not really influencing us in our decision. The joys of living in rural countryside and never venturing into cities. And if we do, the saab is compliant driving

Discovery is out too, too many problems that can creep up and become costly. X5 seem to hold there money and £12k is 2012 plate territory frown

Has anyone had any experience with Evoques or XC60's ?
