Does anyone have an idea of the cost of salary sacrifice leasing through the NHS for a small petrol car? My daughter has just secured her first job and will be starting after graduation. She is desperate for a car and I'm just wondering whether the car scheme is worthwhile over buying a second hand car. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers
The process can take a fare while, Mrs ordered a Evoque in December, meant to be coming in July confirmed two weeks ago it would be here on the 8th July. Emailed this week to say the model has been dropped do you want the replacement. Yes please, OK that will be October then.
All her colleagues and her previous cars are 6 months, from point of order to delivery.
Your daughter will need to consider this if she needs the car for work.

Good point! She's rather desperate to get her first car so waiting 6 months might not go down too well 🙄All her colleagues and her previous cars are 6 months, from point of order to delivery.

I have access to this scheme and the costs of any petrol/diesel car on it are very high, and I mean high.
The only worthwhile deals are on electric.
Just ran a quote on a Suzuki swift on 10000 miles per year, 2 yeear deal and as a higher rate tax payer it’s £407 a month for me.
A Nissan leaf is £304 by means of a comparison.
They do advertise in stock deals and re lease of cars that have been returned early . Here’s the current list which I have checked now, the polo might be an option

Ouch! Ok that's not going to work for her - many thanks for the info; just what I needed. Off to Auto trader to find her something...The only worthwhile deals are on electric.

And also be aware that for some of the NHS trusts using the scheme it has a cumulative impact on pensions which can be quite large.
This is something to be aware of, my pension contributions would be unaffected by the scheme and still based on my full salary, this reduces the savings I would make. The scheme has only been available for a short time at my employer and it’s resulted in some fairly low paid staff cutting about in £75k audi Etrons.
There are some good deals that appear though an ID buzz was about £400 a month a while ago (incl maintenance and insurance) but a diesel vw multivan is £1200 a month
