Buying an new RRS?
Discussion
As I posted elsewhere the crank shaft went on my 2018 RRS - fortunately JLR have agreed to replace the engine though it’s a bit of a wait time as there’s a huge shortage from what I can gather. I’ve been waiting 2 1/2 months and wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a few more.
Anyway I took the new RRS out and it’s a fantastic car. Am I mad for considering buying another one? Anyone else got one and any views on them? I did an insurance quote and it actually went down compared to current model.
A year or so they seemed to be going for over retail price as you couldn’t get them - with higher interest rates, the old engine issues and the thefts, there seems to be deals. JLR are offering 5k off and a quick Look at dealers and there seems to be at least 2.5k extra.
Any THoughts?

For me I dont think the price difference between the deal I got on my SVR vs what I was being offered on a P460 was worth it, both the wife and I although the new one was comfortable we found it pretty boring.
Went for the left field choice and ordered a XM as got a good deal (maybe cause they are not selling well and seems most people think they are hideous).
I was however offered a new sport SV even though though it was suppose to be invite only but passed on that as even with the best man maths I could do the hybrid XM makes much more sense.

You're not mad if you like the car then go for it.Anyway I took the new RRS out and it’s a fantastic car. Am I mad for considering buying another one? Anyone else got one and any views on them? I did an insurance quote and it actually went down compared to current model.

Without wanting to tempt fate I’ve had mine 14 months now and it’s been great. It’s a huge improvement over the last model which I also owned in terms of refinement and tech. I do prefer the looks of the older model mind. I’ll probably keep mine for a few years if it keeps being trouble free, insurance isn’t as bad as the rumour mill would have you believe.

I really like the look of the older own (my one) but now having seen a few of the new shapes, it does start making it look dated. The only thing I’m not too keen on with the new one, is the diesel option doesn’t have the exhaust pipes. Maybe just a small thing aesthetic wise but I’ve always liked them.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
