Hi guys. Myself and the missus are coming to the end of our lease deal on our volvo xc60 and gave decided to buy a second hand car instead of going for another extortionate lease. I've come across a second hand CLS with 80k miles on it (66 reg) for about £13k. I was wandering if there is likely anything to go wrong with this car with 80k miles and if this is a good price? Thanks in advance.

The 2.1 had injector issues and you’ve always got the risk on dpf/egr etc with a diesel. Other than that - why not spend some of the savings on a warranty?

Will warranty cover this? I've had warranty with momentum before and they were terrible. Said they'd cover me for £2k worth of work and only covered £300 of the £1100 bill. Any good warranty company suggestions? Also what are savings? 😂

As ZX said above it's way better to spend a little more for the 6cyl.

220d just about acceptable in a C-class, but the bigger CLS much more suited to the 350d.

I had a 350d CLS and other than the multibeam led headlamps I prefer everything about my current A8.

Happy shopping.

Cheers,

Chris

This is a really sophisticated example which clearly shows that the Tories anti inflation plan is working.

Avoid one with the airmatic suspension if buying as its just another complication to fix. The estates have it as standard in the rear.

Avoid the 19" wheels too they will crack.

The 220d engine is reliable when serviced regularly.

The 350d engine is reliable when serviced regularly.

The gearboxes should be serviced every 50k.

Had a good few cars with variations of those engines in our family and the only one that ever gave trouble and blew a turbo was the one not serviced properly (30k after its last service at about 130k miles).
