Hi,

It is time for the trusty Hyundai iX35 to go, it's a 2012 and we want to upgrade to something newer.
Also, we don't regularly do the miles in it to justify a diesel.

Needs to be SUV body type (Mrs. Haddock does not like estate cars rolleyes)
Comfortable for long journeys
We have 2 labradors, so decent boot space needed.
Ideally 4-5 years old (or less)
Fuel: Petrol (Will be doing under 8,000 miles pa)
Budget: £12 - 13k

I've seen a few things with 1.0L engines, but to me seems a bit mad in a larger car to have such a tiny engine?
Maybe I am wrong confused

So far have been thinking of just replacing the iX35 with a Tucson
But also have seen some Skoda Kamiq dropping into this price bracket with the 1.5 tce petrol engine
I really don't like the Kia Sportage (Yes I know basically the same as a Tucson, but they are even more fugly!)

Any other suggestions?

If you don't mind a manual http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2024052300...

We have the DCT 1.5t version and really like it. Coming from a Tiguan, Karoq, 3008.

Long warranty too.

Hmm...

I don't mind manual or auto, doesn't matter

Not sure the Xc'eed would be big enough though?

Saying that the dimensions are very similar to a Kamiq...

Probably going to need something larger than the Kamiq though, looking at the dimension.

It's when you mentioned the Kamiq that I thought the Xceed might work.

The thing to bear in mind is that the Xceed is exactly half way between a conventional hatch and a typical crossover in terms of road clearance.

It means they it's not proportionally that much smaller than them and certainly less than half way.

What it loses in overall height it kind of regain by having less road clearance.

I appreciate that makes very little sense wink

Honda CRV was voted best dog suv for years by some or other body.

Low boot sill is really handy for dogs. I had an old one for years.

I'd love a CRV as an option

Annoyingly they are slighly out of budget for anything up to 5 years old. frown

Ended up with one of these:

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Saw one at a dealership whilst looking at a different car (Didn't buy that one though as it was massively over priced!)

Found one reasonably local (about an hour drive)

2021 registered
38k miles
1 owner

I think they look good from the front, but they are proper fugly from the rear biglaugh

Anyway, it ticked the boxes
1.5 petrol (won't be doing many miles in this one, so diesel had to go)
good boot space
good rear seat space

I like those things. But yes the rear certainly had a different designer to the front biggrin
Quite a bit of car for the money. Equally with the smaller ASX
